My Bikini Body Guide review is a little different than other reviews out there because I actually didn’t end up buying it and I will tell you why below so keep reading before you buy ANYTHING!
I’ve struggled with my weight for years especially after turning 30 and having my first baby girl. I’m now 35 and for the last 5 years I’ve found it really challenging to maintain a healthy lifestyle. After having Sasha (my second child) I packed on a lot of pounds but I never really noticed as I was so busy with work and looking after the girls. I stopped taking care of myself and really let myself down.
I’d had enough and went in search for ways to lose weight. I needed a good weight loss plan to follow (as I find it hard to focus at times) and ended up doing A LOT of research looking for the best weight loss programs.
I first stumbled upon Kayla Itsines workouts after a friend tagged me in one of her daily Instagram posts. I then found some interesting articles about her story and how she became so famous on Instagram – she makes my 3,000 followers look like I have no friends! I also saw some videos of her workouts on Youtube and Facebook.
My main goal is to look good in a bikini again and get that beach bikini body back again that I had before having my baby girls. After reading about Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Guide I was really excited and thought I might be able to get a bikini body like Kayla and impress my hubby and friends.
I was all set to buy Kayla Itsines Guide right there and then, I went to the website and clicked checkout and that’s when I saw the price. I was shocked to find how expensive the entire course worked out to be after buying everything I’d need to get my bikini body.
The Real Cost of Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Guide
I originally thought I would be buying a one time course but it turns out to get the complete Bikini Body Guide (BBG) you need to invest over $200, just to get started.

This is what I really didn’t like about Kayla’s course… After you complete the 12 week workout plan in the Bikini Body Guide you will then have to purchase the new workout plans for a further $69.97 to complete the workout course. It is a juggernaut of a workout guide at over 200 pages long but again it costs exactly the same as the original signup fee ARGHH! Why so expensive?
Keep Reading… Once you’ve invested in the Bikini Body Guide course you’ll also need to purchase gym equipment to follow Kayla Itsines workout plan correctly. If you already have a home gym then you’ll be sorted but most of us don’t (me!). You’ll need two benches (steps), a yoga mat, two small (3-5kg) dumbbell weights, a medicine ball, skipping rope and bosu ball.
Kayla Itsines then recommends buying a heart rate monitor which will set you back another $99.97 so as you can see the costs can quickly add up even if you are lucky enough to have most of the gym equipment or can get your hands on some second hand equipment. You could go to the gym and use their equipment but Bikini Body Guide is a course designed to be followed along at home.
Even if you do buy all the gym equipment required, do you have enough space to jump rope on your apartment or condo? I certainly don’t in my small 1 bedroom condo.
The Nutrition Guide that Kayla recommends you follow has attracted a lot of mixed opinions online. I’ve had experience with nutrition guides in the past and had to checkout the reviews on Bikini Body Guide and everyone seems to be commenting on the same things.
- Most women say the low calorie dies is actually bad for you
- Cravings were terrible
- The food was expensive
- It didn’t really add value to the course and could have been free.
Is Kayla Itsines Guide Worth The Money?
Call me broke but in my honest opinion (this is my bikini body guide review) but I don’t really think it’s worth it. Especially when there are other well known and more popular bikini body guides in the market. My question is why does Kayla have such a high price on her bikini body guide when it’s a digital course?
I’m not a huge fan of the EXTRA costs involved and that really was the clincher in opting out of Kayla Itsines bikini body guide. After adding all the costs up and the gym equipment I needed to buy, it just didn’t seem worth it to me. With all the mixed reviews out there regarding the nutritional guide and costs I wasn’t keen to sign up.
A Kayla Itsines Alternative That Worked For Me
If your excited about Kayla Itsines bikini body workout guides then you should go ahead and buy them but I personally can’t bring myself to spend that much money on something that isn’t that good. If, like me, you don’t want to fork out over $230 then here is an alternative which in my opinion is a much better deal and it worked for me too.
I went back to Facebook and Youtube looking for something GREAT and more affordable to help me achieve the bikini body I so desperately needed. One of the really cool things about Jen Ferrugias course is that I can watch the videos on my ipad and phone. I can use my ipad anywhere, even when I travel and I’ve learnt how to perform each workout correctly which I think helps achieve great results because exercising wrong can cause injury and damage your results.
If like me your strapped for cash then why spend all that money on Kayla Itsines bikini body guide when you can spend a third of the cost and buy Jen Ferrugia Bikini Body Workouts instead?
